Hello, I;m trying to learn about sound files. Is there some way to convert sound files to different forrmats? Like converting MP3's to .wav or midi files.

yes,however, this is not hte place for those questions.

Just go to downloads.com or tucows.com and search for wav to mp3 and you will see how many shareware,free software are available out there.

i would reccomend MP3 decoder, to convert MP3's to WAV, its free from downloads.com (http://www.downloads.com)

If you intend to use sound files on your website, use MP3 because wav files take forever to download from the server as each one is about 27Mb.

It is best to convert them so that they can be played online but sometimes you lose sound quality...

Khalid Ali, I'm sorry if I have my question in the wrong place. Knowing nothing about sound files (and not much more about web design) I was not sure where to find an answer to my question. But like I figured, you guys pointed me in the right direction. Thank you...........
