This is the first try i've had at designing a website layout in Adobe ImageReady 7... well I have drawn up slices so that I can link parts of the layout and i exported it all as HTML and images.
I opened up Dreamweaver (MX) and opened up the file. But where I want to write content etc. I can't because the slices somehow divided up the whole layout with tables and cells. What I want is to write over the image in HTML and text...
I hope this makes sense and someone can help?
here's what I have: http://www.oziz.co.uk/new

ImageReady will divide up the image into tables and caells or divs depending on your output settings. It will do CSS as well.
To get it to divide up the image differently you would need to delete some of the slices and save the ones you need for links.
To get text over the image you would need to "insert a layer" in DW and postion it over the area you want the text so the table with all the images is the background for the layer.
If you can upload your original psd so I can save it, I can help you a little more because I can mess with it myself. I just did this with another person in another forum and it worked out well for him.

thanks for your reply. i deceided to save it as an image and move it into Fireworks. There I added 'hotspots' which are essentially Image Maps. This made it alot easier and for now it's all good!

You could have done that in PS as well.

I first learned "the craft" (meaning web stuff, not assassination skills. That I learned from an old Japanese man, put that is a different story...) by doing this kind of thing with Fireworks and DW.
The easiest thing to do is create a big ass slice where you want your page content to go.
...
That is all.
