I am trying to get an effect where I have a background color and another color above that so my text can more easily be seen. Click on the link below, America's Army website, and you can see what I am talking about. They have the cammo background and then a transparent second color. Now it is easy to make a transparent box using Adobe Illustrator, but they are using Flash. Is there a way to do this with out using Flash. Last, I don't work with Flash much, so this is a newbie question, what is a good website, or book, that will help me learn flash the way they are using it. I am used to seeing flash movies not entire pages made using flash.

He he, funny to see a reference to my favorite video game of all time! My name in game is )x(TBD)x(.CatKiller if you are wondering :)

Anyway, they are using multiple movies... the whole site is not Flash. To have a movie such as the header you basically have the background transparent. Then a bottom layer filled black with the opacity set to something such as 30%. The rest of the layers would be 100% visible. The camo is simply an image used for the background of the HTML file and it shows through the transparent Flash movie and the semi-transparent base layer of the movie? Does that make sense? Sorry if it doesn't it is late and I am half asleep.
