i have a weird prob that i can't solve..

for certain pages on the 'net, IE 6 closes while thepage is loading. If i have otther IE windows open they will also be closed.

I have deleted my cache and cookies, and deleted my history..i have tried re-installing IE, but i keep getting the message that i have the latest IE and do not need to install it.

I thought re-installing might solve the problem. How ca I re-install? I am on WinXP.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks!!!!

Are you talking reinstall WinXP or just IE? If you mean WinXP, it should definately fix the problem, but make sure you backup all of your data before you do it. ;)

I had the same problems. do you get an error saying that blah blah has been effected and lists a buncha numbers like this:

b234 a234 b235 as14
b215 b234 0245 b175
ect ect ect

Im not sure what did it but i didn't re-install IE. I ran spybot S&D (link in my signature) and AdAware 6 ("http://www.lavasoft.com) and deleted most of the useless crap on my computer that i had downloaded and it just stopped throwing errors.

AdamBrill: i meant re-install IE 6...i want to put off the trouble of backing up all my data and re-installing XP, then re-installing all my downloaded programs and add-ons...
can i re-install XP without worrying about backing up? will it just repair the OS?

Sux0rZh@jc0rz: no error messages, all that happens is that every IE window I have open closes, very suddenly..
