The answer to most 'web questions' is usually one of two things: "Google", or "Stu Nichols" ( :)! ) and in this case I'd Google "Differences between legacy and new tracking code for analytics". I just did and see tht many people have asked this question before, and that there are answers.

A surprising number of postees fail to first try a Google for the terms that they request information on. I was trying to be helpful. I would have ignored your request except that you 'bumped', which suggests urgency. Your thread was read. I was sincere in my suggestion. I read some of the URLs that came up (and I learned some things in the process) and they really didn't mean that much to ME personally, but they might have for you and your awesome 21-posts to this form to-date, which is why I suggested this course of action.

And furthermore, -let's not go calling a Moderator with the abilty delete accounts, an ass, -okay? I cannot think of a quicker way to get censure than name-calling and I for one, will not tolerate it.

Either way, google is going to be phasing out the Legacy code. They are no longer updating this code, as they are with the new code.

The new code also works for SSL, whereas the legacy didn't.

To sum up - use the new code.

Generally, a thorough investigation that includes various search organizations and resources available online are my first courser of action, therefore leaving me with few questions to ask here. It just seems unfortunate this time any answers I could have read were blocked by security.
