Whats your preference?

Ok so I've made my own event calendar and I would like to get some opinions on the best way to display event details once the user has clicked on a certain event in a given day. For example some event calendars I've seen use a pop-up window, some go to a whole new page, what is your preference?

Or a "tooltip" that displays text as you mouseover (or click) and hides it when you mouse away. There might be too much text to pre-load if you're doing it in a calendar, though.
