How do I add music to download on my site?

I want to add music files to my site so people can listen and download them.

What code or what do I need to do to be able to do this?

Pardon me if I'm way off base here:

Couldn't you just upload your music files to your server (like you would upload you html files, etc...). Then you would just link to it and the browser will start the download for you?
So if you have your files in a "music" folder you could link to them like so:


<a href="music/artist-band.mp3">artist-band</a>


Or am I way off?

It's a little vague. he wants people to "listen" and download...it sounds like he's looking for streaming and the option of saving, but he'll have to Expound on the need.

I have done what you suggested before, and it works fine. The browser opens up whatever audio player it uses and starts playing the track (streamed).
