Website layout and design

I've come a pretty long way the last few months, getting into PHP and touching on JavaScript aswell as producing FLASH movies and so on.

My problem is currently not my content, its my creativeness. I am battling to layout the sites I am currently working on. Then I take a look around on the net and redo mine all over again, usually with unsatisfactory results.

Are there and sites, tips, hints and so on that I need to know or could use to make my sites neater and more professional looking, especially with regards to the layout, not so much the graphics...???

keep your design as simple as possible - and that includes the content in your design, don't bombard the user and, as much as it gets oversaid on this forum, have plenty of whitespace.
