Tabs images.

I am not sure where to put this. But I am wondering how you get the images in tabs. For example this website has a yellow box with WD. Yahoo has a red Y! How do you script that?

I'm very noobish in the webdesign field. I'm thinking of putting this on my forum page. I'm using phpbb3
