Multiple Needs For Website

Hello,

Not sure if I posted this in the correct place.

I'm wanting to build a musician fan site but am having trouble finding something to use for it.

I've been experimenting with Joomla and I think it's great but I can't get it to accommodate all of my needs.

The main features I want included in my site are:

Some sort of CMS to handle blog/news articles and pages.
Video, audio, & image gallery all with commenting and rating.
Forum/chat
Possibly a download manager


I managed to find a decent image gallery component for Joomla but it didn't support commenting/rating feature.
I haven't looked for an audio gallery because I spent so much time searching for a video gallery for Joomla but nothing I came across was any good.

There was a component to integrate Joomla with phpBB3 but it was still in alpha stage and wasn't very good.

If anyone knows how I can keep using Joomla and fulfill all the listed needs or knows of another solution please let me know and thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

All of that is available with Joomla through bridges to other programs and such. As to specifics, not sure. Just search their Extension directory.

However, the ability of the extensions to perform up to your standards may be something quite different.

Off the top of my head, I know there is an IPPB Forum bridge for Joomla, there was (not sure if there still is) a Wordpress bridge for it. Coppermine does the pictures and I thought did videos, however there are others if you don't want that. Download manager is simple enough, there are hundreds out there, I think there is one included in Coppermine as well, but I'm not sure how well it works.

Hope that at least gives you leads. Sorry I can't be too much more of a help, but I'm at work and I probably won't remember to research this stuff later on. If I do though, I'll be sure to come back and help you out some more.

I've been pretty disappointed with the joomla bridges. Either they don't work or don't work well. I'll keep trying though.
