Hi,

I wonder anyone can give some advice. My thumbnails option in my 'View' menu has disappeared. I don't know why this has happened and I don't know how to get it back. Can anyone advise how I might get it back ?

Thanks in advance

This should do it if you're running XP

Open regedit (registry editor)
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced \
Change ClassicViewState to 0
Close regedit

You can do a system restore and see if you get back the thumbnail view. else you need to modify the registry setting as suggested. Please let me know if you are comfortable using the system restore. I will guide you in case you need any help.

Hi

Thanks for your input. I am running 2000 pro, will the process be different ?

Thanks

Can't find a solid reference on Win2K, but what I've found suggests that the registry key may be:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Polices \ Explorer \ ClassicShell

Change to 0.

Hi TheBearMay

Unfortunately I have never done anything with the registry and I will need very precise instruction on what I have to do to avoid computer catastrophy:eek:

If anyone can be bothered to talk me through this I will of course be extremely grateful !
