Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Horizontally scrollable box on page

I apologise in advance, since I'm so ignorant that I'm not even sure how to frame my question.

I have a blog, the horizontal width of which is fixed.

I can create entries using HTML code.

I'd like to put into a blog entry a box with a horizontal scroll bar and then put into the box a collection of images side by side. Someone could look through the images by using the horizontal scrollbar.

I thought I'd seen an example of this, but now can't find it again.

Is it indeed possible?

If so, could someone give me a hint as to where to find information about doing it or even a hint as to the technical name applied to such a thing?

Thanks for reading this,

Leslie

I think you're looking for something like this (http://www.stunicholls.com/gallery/photo_click.html), is that right? He has others on the site also.

Thanks very much for replying LeeU.

The blogging software I use is called tumblr.

I don't know whether you can use CSS with a tumblr post. However, if you can, the truth is that I just wouldn't know how and both versions of the gallery to which you directed me used CSS.

I was hoping for something that would just use HTML or HTML plus Javascript.

If what I hope to do is even doable in the babyish way I want and you know of any models for that, I'd be very grateful to hear.

Thanks again,

Leslie

Ah, gotcha. Well, you might try the image scripts over at JavaScript Source (http://javascript.internet.com/image-effects/).

If that doesn't work, I could always move this topic to the Blog forum and you could see if they could help.
