My client says they have a web cam with HTTP streaming capability. The camera outputs Mpeg-4 video at 15FPS. How do I embed it into a web page? Everywhere I look the instructions are about QuickTime, but is this the only way?

Mpeg-4 video is a very good compression of video, but unfortunately it is currently more proprietary than it is universal. My experience with mpeg4 was to transcode so that my video could be downloaded to the Ipod (QuickTime) and to create stand along CDs for DivX.
DivX provides great compression and quality, but my clients resisted having to install yet another video player on their machine. But the difference (in my experience) between QuickTime and DivX is like night and Day… I love DivX!
It is rapidly gaining market share, but is no where near were Flash video is right now.
Google DivX or:
DivX_News@divx-newsletters.com
Once you set your file format, you can embed the player.
My suggestion, research mpeg4 and DivX but convert to Flash .flv format for user compatibility.
