Thanks, GK Mr. E. Cryptic 06-28-2008, 09:46 AM pretty cool site. 3 things off the bat that would annoy me (take with a grain of salt, of course); Not sure about the same background colour for you content divs and the background though - your borders are quite well defined, but a contrasting colour in the bg to split the page up would be easier for navigation as you do have a lot of content. You've also given your text sizes absolute values which prevents users from making the text-size larger - which is quite annoying Too many overflow: auto divs with absolute heights for my liking. Your design is perfect for scaleable heights, use'em. Really like the design though, looks like you've really put the time in - it shows. I have updated my website to no longer show the background image. The text sizes were a must (I respectfully disagree that you cant make your font bigger, when making post on the website a simple parse of [font size=2 ] will make your font bigger. If thats' not what your talking about then theres always the Ctrl + "+" to make the text bigger in your browser.). As for the div absolute heights that was also a must in coding. When a panel runs a query I have it set to display a lot of information. In my opinion it keeps the site more in order and easier to access without making the user schroll down a mile just to view the information. I have put a lot of time and effort into this project. A lot of days without sleep I can actually say. Nonetheless the results always pay off in the end. Thanks, GK Mr. E. Cryptic 06-28-2008, 10:26 AM I'm not a fan of zoom fucntions on websites, I'd rather just bump up the text size (don't like scrolling across a page as I read). I'm also not a fan of multiple scrolling divs on a page, especially when they're in the central content and I find my scroll-wheel-down of the page suddenly interupted to scroll down a seperate content area and not the actual page which I was trying to scroll through. I prefering to scale heights or loop a certain amount of time and then provide a 'more' option. That said, please don't take what I said as a diss of your site, the relevant part of annoy me, was ME - wasn't saying there was anything wrong with it persay, just things I'M not pushed on. Anyway, as I said; nice design, and it definately shows that you've put the work in. I sincerely wish you all luck with building it up. WebJoel 06-30-2008, 09:12 AM Wow... alot of work here. Much content. I find that pulsing logo on the right-hand upper corner slightly distracting... upon enter, this is about where my pointer-tool resides and every time this thing 'pulses', I find myself wiggling the mouse... I do note 609 'warnings' on validation, mostly small stuff, like this:<script type='text/javascript' src='includes/lightbox/js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects'></script> <script type='text/javascript' src='includes/lightbox/js/lightbox.js'></script> </head> <body bgcolor='#E3E3E3' text='#61873D'> <script type='text/javascript' src='includes/jscript.js'></script> </head> <body bgcolor='#E3E3E3' text='#61873D'> <TABLE WIDTH=100% BORDER=0 CELLPADDING=0 CELLSPACING=0> "</head>" cannot exist in "<body>" and, second <"body>" is ignored. If you have Firefox browser and the extention "HTML-Validator by TIDY", TIDY will clean-up all your WARNINGS with the click of one button and present you with cleaned, corrected code. And, you should have a complete, full !doctype. What you have now, is incomplete without the required URI. Overall though, nods for the amount of work put into this. :) expat 07-04-2008, 05:57 AM well u hardly gonna go wrong with drupal ;) Your design is perfect for scaleable heights, use'em. How do u use scalebale heights ?? Mr. E. Cryptic 07-04-2008, 02:58 PM well u hardly gonna go wrong with drupal Your design is perfect for scaleable heights, use'em. How do u use scalebale heights ?? Sorry, bad choice of words, simply meant that his design was well suited to let the content decide the height of each area (no set heights). donatello 07-04-2008, 06:35 PM Wow! That's damn good! How many hours of work was it? webdeveloper.com
