hi all...
working on a website using shadows... link is here (http://vaughan.fkbalderson.net).
if in IE7 and you click an image to enter the full size version, the shadow goes completely black with no alpha transparency... anyone know the cause of this?
any help is appreciated... thanks

that is quite odd, so now a new problem, why on earth would it display correctly on your IE and not mine, or more importantly, the clients

didn't see a problem the drop shadow either (IE7/Opera) however, I did notice while browsing in Opera that in your info->bio section the text area is forcing both vertical and horizontal scroll bars, resulting in the last line of text being blocked out by the scroll bar.

are you on vista or XP?
just trying to get a grasp on where exactly this bug comes into play, also, can you give the specs of your machine? maybe it's a memory problem...

Okay, just checked this on the owle home computer (32bit Vista HomeBasic - 2GB ram - Also checked from G4 iMac 1GB ram) and I see the problem, but only in IE on the PC - both Opera and FF are grand (haven't got IE on the mac, so can't tell).
Comp I would have checked from earlier is just an XP machine with 1GB ram and didn't see any problems there (IE7, opera & Firefox).
Probably not a memory problem.
Too much JS in the script for me to make head or tails of it but I do seem to remember IE giving me trouble with PNG files as background images in divs, but I might be imagining that. you might try removing the background-image att from .picture etc, actually nesting the image in the div and overlaying the full images in a higher div.
Lot of work if it's not a solution though

i don't believe it's a background issue because if you click the "info" link, those shadows are not background images, but img tags.

ehh, in that case I've no idea. I've just checked a couple of my own sites that have gradient png in the bg and there's no problems anywhere. You might want to check in the javascript threads to see if there might be something up with the way it's recalling stuff, or maybe your opacity filters are doing something to it?
But anyway, there are tribes in the amazon as yet untouched by civilisation or technology that are more javascript literate than me. Probably worth checking the JS though, you never know.
