Hi,

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction, everytime I type my domain name(ex: www.myname.com) on any search engine, it doesn't list the site.

Go directly to www.myname.com (site may not exist)

I understand that one must submit to search engines, but currently my domain is pointing to a Server, how can I fix this? Thanks and God Bless.....

If absolutley nothing at all is turning up you may want to check that the highest level public folder hasn't got any robots.txt files that are excluding all (*).

I'm sue there's a 100 things it could be, but if you check that one; you've only 99 left :)

Well, you don't have to submit your site to the search engines. They will find it. Also, your domain has to point to your server, that's how it works.

Do you have any content? What is the URL of your site? If you don't want to search engines to pick it up here, just write it something like "mySite [dot] com".

Hi there,

Thanks for the quick responses.....May I ask, am I supposed to have a robots.txt file within my folder. Cause I did a search for it, and couldn't find one? Below you will find my domain, is still needs some work though:

www.xfilestube.com

Thanks for the help and God Bless.....

no, if the robots.txt file isn't there then it's absence won't be effecting anything.

I did a google for your full domain name (www.xfilestube.com) and got a result. (here (http://www.google.ie/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=www.xfilestube.com&btnG=Search&meta=))

nothing on Yahoo though.

Is the site fairly new by any chance? that is; your domain name was updated within the last week or so, was the site up and running with the domain name pointing to it before that?

Hi Mr. Cryptic,

Thanks for the response and help, yes it shows now in Google, cause I went into my account and I activated the site, plus I have to upload the xml site map. Well, yes it's fairly new, the thing is that I used Web CEO to submit to the search engines, and yet it doesn't appear, specially for Yahoo, MSN, Google. So, it's kind of weird.....Yes, my domain name pointing to the server was running before that.......

So, I'm at odds with this situation, I've contacted my hosting to see if there's something wrong on the server, and they say no. So I'm thinking to myself, maybe these search engines, one has to do it manually, and you can't trust those SEO Applications.....

Thanks for the help and God Bless You.....

I went into my account and I activated the site

? hosting account ? some sort of SE adder acc?

If the site's been inactive / inaccessable then this just may take a little time. I've only used search engine submission utilities once or twice (a long time ago) and I've found them quite useless.

Once there's content on your site, most major search engines will begin to pick it up after a couple of weeks - they rely quite heavily on content.

Hi there,

Well, I'm planning on adding Joomla CMS as a subdomain to the site and insert content related to the subject. How does search engines handle subdomains? Would I need to resubmit the subdomain, or do you think the crawlers would pick up the subdomains with the main domain...........Thanks for the help, and God Bless......

they should pick up the content.
