PeOfEo 10-01-2003, 09:19 PM Are you going for a no-right click script? Because let me just say this early, dont waste your time. h0ts0up 10-01-2003, 09:25 PM yes i mean that!! WHERE DO I FIND IT, and why not waste my time? h0ts0up 10-01-2003, 09:42 PM PLZ SUM1 TELL ME PeOfEo 10-01-2003, 09:47 PM They offer no protection. They are very easy to get around. 1.)All one has to do is save you webpage and it saves the image too to get your image 2.) a user can get your images fromt their cache. 3.) a user can get on a browser that does not support java script 4.) some of thost scripts have bunches of flaws so that you can hold down your left mouse button then click the right one to get a context menu. In conclusion there are many ways to go around these scripts. I probably left out a few methods but I do not feel like thinking of more. Basically the point I am trying to make is these scripts are more annoying then secure and that java script is not your best bet for anything that needs to be functional. Java script is something I might use for finishing touches or neat affects on a site. Like, in IE, clicking View and then Source from the menubar at the top... Correct again - well said. No-right-click scripts do nothing more than frustrate users, who may need the context menu for something like to bookmark the page - although they could do it a different way, I'd be very frustrated if someone took control over my browser. JavaScript should be used for all sorts of things, but not to limit the functionality given to the user, and it should always be used as extra. Dependance on JavaScript is like depending on sleeping drugs to go to bed at night, instead of going to sleep yourself... Actually, it's worse. You can use it for form validation, neat effects (like moving things), and all sorts of other things like menus and DHTML, but a site should always work without JavaScript enabled... Give us a valid reason for the no right-click; that doesn't discriminate against disabled users or someone who wants to use mouse gestures then, and only then I might tell you how. webdeveloper.com
