Okay..here is a painfully simple question.
I want to add a watermark to my images but I do not want to go to the Photoshop Website to get a digital ID..so am I correct in assuming that a simple text image on top of my original image would suffice?

I know it sounds simplistic but I just like to know if that is really all a watermark entails..aside from imbedded info

Yep, if you don't need a digital ID, just make a new layer in Photoshop, add your copyright text, and save it. (If you are using a .gif or .jpg, it will automatically merge the layers, if you are using something else, you'd best merge them yourself, as if the layers don't get merged, it will be quite easy to remove... ;))
