I Flirt 4 Code

I have a question. I found a black and white pic I want to use but I want to fill it in and add color. The problem is I can't figure out how to select just parts of it and not the whole thing.
Its a .gif if that makes any difference. I apologize if I am not explaining it right, but I am new to all this and graphics are NOT my thing.

You would probably find it easier to use Adobe Photoshop for colorizing a photo instead of Illustrator. One method is to make a selection using the lasso tool. Now go to edit->adjust->hue/saturation. Select colorize and then play
with the settings until you get a color representation that you like.

Illustrator is not the program for this ..you can retrace the image if you like and make it a vector image .. but it sounds more like you want to change shadings and that is more of a photoshop thing.. if you need any help with photoshop please feel free to email me I am online all night most nights working and I dont mind helping you can reach me at nathan@grailviper.com
