I am looking to improve the search engine placement of our web site, and I came across this one calledWebPosition Gold, anyone here of it? Anyways, are any of these effective? BTW, we also use overture and adwords, would a program do the same thing that these services are already doing or would it be worth the investment?

Nope can't say that I've ever needed too use that software.
Here is how to make sure your site will rank higher.
1. Use the keywords you want your site to come up on FREAQUANTLY on your site.
2. name your files to the closest keyword of that page.
3. Keep adding content to your site... Some people suggest at least a page a day.
I'll let someone else add a couple more items.

Can't you put a list of keywords in a meta tag at the top of eah page? Will that make any difference?
Re-submitting your webpage to search angines frequently will make a differnece as well.

re-submitting your site is a good way to get your site banned on some search engines too.

using search engine position software, rank checkers, etc. is also a violation of the AUP/TOS of search engines (atleast google, which is really all I care about).
