I'm relatively new to a lot of this, but do any of the new versions of WYSIWYG editors have good code?

If they don't, do any of them have better code than another, and what role should this play in my decision to get Dreamweaver over a competitor.

Thanks for any help!

At least between Dreamweaver and Expressions, I've seen pretty bogus code coming from the WYSIWG editor portion of each.

The role this should play is to convince you to not use the WYSIWG mode for general creation of your code - use the code editing mode for that. Use the WYSIWG mode only in cases where you need it because you've forgotten a syntax, or to start a new page with a template, something like that.

I see what you're saying- under that train of thought, would you be better off getting a cheaper/free editor.

Along with that, what would you say (apart from using the templates) are the best tools and top reasons to use one of the two major editors?
