http://beautifulsmiles4life.com/ 24 seconds before I saw a hint of content. Firefox3
86 requests (i.e. images, css and javascript) is far too much.

http://expatsworld.sytes.net/ 12 seconds before I saw content. Firefox 3
40 rquests, better than the first, but still too much.

I dunno, I was using firefox 3 and got loading times of around 5 or 7 seconds each, although it was still loading after that(I was just counting until I wasn't looking at a blank page).

too long for the average user though, they've normaly left and clicked another link by now(there's a reason google is so popular compared to say, yahoo - just look at loading time comparisons), so speeding it up a bit will help, Yslow from yahoo is a great tool, you need to try it out if you havn't already.

isnt 10 seconds normal for av surfers???? if you are complaining about yahoo then everyone else is also slow LOL

JS and CSS and images would be 300+ Kb on first load and then cached, which would be 6+ sec on dialup 56kb

no, 10 seconds is rather rare for your average user, unless they get some sort of indication that somethings working...

average users will normaly wait around 5 or so seconds, although users are all different, and when the average users stays for 5 seconds it means half the users don't even wait around that long!
