Hi There

I am trying to research ways to be able to manipulate audio files on a web server. As a basic example I would like to take one audio file and combine it with another audio file to make one audio file into two. Of course I would like to do a little bit more advanced audio file editing than that (no major dj effects, maining combining multiple audio files into one and mixing another audio file ontop of it).

Does anyone have any knowledge of doing this or of any scripts, programs, etc, that can be accessed programatically and told what files to manipulate. Thanks in advance.

Seth

Having done a fair amount of editing both video and audio, it can take a pretty good piece of software to really do a good job. In even the simplest form you need a visual of the waveform just to make the edit cuts. Then it just gets more complicated from there. Are you working to develop software that any person using your site could access? Or is it just a private use type thing? Have you done much editing already?
If so, what feature of your editing software do you want to emulate?
If you don’t have any software yet, you may want to try Audacity.

Sounds like this could be a very big project.
Good luck,
