Hi Guys,

I thought I'd take this opportunity to introduce myself before I jump in to the forum properly... it's nicer all round than folks who just turn up and expect answers to their questions and don't participate in any way or even introduce themselves.

So, a little about me. I'm a 20something year old student from the UK... I have an interest in all aspects of computing and IT, and I do some freelance web development.

I am strongest at UNIX admin, server side scripting, MySQL, and other programming. As for W3C standards, javascript, DOM, and other stuff like that... I'm learning:)

So, that's me... I look forward to using this board and joining in.

Well I tend to do stuff that apparently not many other people do. So usually when I get stuck and I post a thread here, it tends to go unanswered because of its rather niche nature. So these days I just tend to stick to official documentation and specifications (like Recommendations and RFCs etc).

Although I'd never have been able to make a lick of sense of such texts without first getting a huge amount of help from here first.

Another reason a don't currently come here for help much lately is that It's been a looooong time since I did any client-side stuff beyond the foundation basics. Once I get round to adding a front-end to my site that looks like it was built by a web developer, then I'll no doubt be spending a great deal of time in the CSS forum catching up on all the mayhem that IE causes and how to fix it.
