Hello,
I would like to select a cross-platform font for my site. I have my eye set on "courier new" but I'm not sure it exists on all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux).
Can you guys check if you have this font...
Or provide me with an up-to-date list of cross-platform fonts.
Thank you.

I tend to check that guide, with a little bit of researching on my own if needed.

I couldn't understand the * near the "courier new" font on linux, any idea?

the star means that it's not included by default, but is available as part of a package called "msttcorefonts" which includes a fair number of fonts from windows, not every linux user will have them, but most will(around 80% of ubuntu users)(either way it's still a wise idea to use a generic font as a fall back).

You're right, but I need to select the generic font wisely, to match the editor I'm working on (as you might remember from the cursor thread ;)).
If only I had a mac...

you can install OSx onto a virtualbox or something similar, although you will need a license...

Too much trouble without the real mac keyboard. I've found this nice semi free site www.browserpool.com, but their browsers are not up-to-date... Oh well it's free :)
thanks for the help scragar.
