Dropdown menu issue

I've created some dropdown menus in Fireworks to act like a menubar at the top of the page. However when i add them to a page of HTML the text and images on that page are in the forground putting the menus behind and out of sight.:confused: Anyone any ideas? p.s Im a network person not a scripter so please excuse my ignorance
