Can I run IE6 on a PC that is already running IE7?
The only reason I ask is because I recently found out that more customers are still using IE6 than 7!! I was amazed. I would have thought people would automatically upgrade to 7, but apparently not....

It is possible, but Microsoft do not support it and advise against it. I think it's because it has something to do with having to disable automatic updates for IE (obviously not a good thing) in order to be able to run them.

More recently, however, I've read that you can download a package that includes a few versions of IE and has some tweaks and things pre-applied to it to make things work properly. Whether or not this includes a tweak to keep your main version of IE keep updated via Windows Update or not is unclear.

I cen't remember exactly where I saw the bundle, but it was on one of the more popular CSS-based websites. It was in an article about using contitional comments to replace the asterisk/star hack that used to work before IE 7.
