favicon issues

hi,

i understood the favicon works on IE only after the page is bookmarked. however i see lots of sites that their favicon appears without me bookmark them first. is my code wrong? on ff it works.

second, i saw the favicon godaddy uses. on ff they have a large favicon (see image) and on ie it's different. how does it work with this huge icon on ff? doesnt it have to be 16x16?

its not big and small, its still this same favicon. New mozilla has a new feature which apend to the url address, after favicon company name which is issued to SSL certificate. Its only appear for big fishes with their ssl certificate like godaddy, paypal etc

any idea about why ie wont show my icon?
it shows icons on other pages that i dont add to fav. like this page.
