Product Advice?

I'd like to get some feedback / recommendations on the appropriate tools to purchase to develop a RIA. Most of the research that I've done points to the Adobe products, but those seem to be mostly WSYWIG. Anything wrong with that? We're starting from scratch; I do have some opinions / preferences, but would like comments from the community. This will be a typical web application with pictures, shopping carts, electronic signatures, e-commerce, etc.
