...specifically for PHP, but i guess this is the most appropriate forum! :)

the white background has really been bothering my eyes lately because of the amount of hours straight I've been working...

Tried to edit it manually but made a huge mess and it was a pain to get the original color scheme back :)

thx!

Just replace the body tag to:
<body bg="#000000">

or in the head section add the following tag:

<style>
body{
background:#000000;
}
</style>

If you are able to use simple graphic programe such as Microsoft Paint, It will be nice to attache an image that looks like what your mind has in-order to allow me look at it, then I will know what you exactly mind.

here's what im working with, not sure its the latest version but its the most recently updated one i've found online (18/04/2008): direct-link, my domain (http://www.alexweber.info/php20080418.xml)

i remember a few jobs ago i had a co-worker who was a long-term programmer and he had 'inverted' color schemes for his IDE (cant remember which one now) so intead of black on white, its white on black.

a few years later i realize that he was right. its significantly less stressing on the eyes... perhaps even something on gray would be better (less contrast). but i digress.

my point is that simply changing the background color makes certain items look strange and i cant figure out a coherent way to make them look more natural and intuitive, also DW uses a list of terms which aren't 100% clear to me... ok was gonna go ahead and post a screenshot but my website is suddenly offline... great.. ill try to post asap but you get the picture right?

so i decided to work on my own thing here and after reading up on a lot of the extensible DW files i realized that most of the ones that came shipped with CS3 included a lot of deprecated codehints, missing/obsolete functions and whatnot so im working on an up to date version... :)
