My problem is the following:

I've got Windows XP installed in my computer.
But for some reason, I don't have javascript in all the system!!! Neither Windows XP, neither Internet Explorer.
Can't search, can't use all the things that has the javascript code, can't use some buttons, my Yahoo! mail looked good, now looks horrible...

I went to IE->Tools->Internet Options...->Advanced options and I have the option marked "JavaJIT compilator enable (needs restarting)" enabled, the option "Java console enabled (needs restarting)" enabled and no results!!!

I also installed the last Microsoft VM version and still got no results!

Please help me!
I know this is something with the registry keys or Windows XP and I need a patch! But how is this possible if I didn't touched that!

One thing more: I contacted Sun Microsystems but they only support enterprises, so I can't take that like a suggestion!
I contacted also the Microsoft Team, but they say that is a problem with Sun... (!?)
I can't event put that smile "confused"!!!!

Cheers,

Java and Javascript are different things. If you have Javascript disabled, you need to enable all the options in the "Scripting" section of the advanced options.

Alternately, you could try download and reinstalling IE (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&displaylang=en) or downloading a better browser - Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org/).

Sorry, but I tried all that too and no results!

And I can't reinstall IE 'cause this IE came with the Windows XP. So if I try, the new program tells me that I have the last version and can't continue.

Thanks anyway.

Javascript should be tied directly to the browser....not the OS.

Download Netscape/Mozilla... IE sucks anyways as far as supporting standards.

As far as how can it happen...it IS a microsoft product after all!

Well, Mozilla seems to have the same problem that the IE... it doesn't respond to javascript code either...
Now only the Yahoo! looks better. But only that! Damn!

Damn Windows XP! Damn javascript and damn all the programs that sucks!!!!

Hey...

I feel your pain. I have XP Pro on a Dell that I use for testing sites, but I work on a Mac now for the exact same reason you are pissed off...Windows bites!.

It amazes me after all the crashes, stolen code (Half life?), worms, blasters, and viruses, a crappy browser, etc that people still use it.

I love PC hardware, just give me a decent OS on it.

Windows is ****, man!
But you and I and all the people use it only because others can think we can be aliens!
Linux sucks, Windows sucks, all OS sucks but the computer is obsolet without that!

Billy G. can suck me this "XP"!
