[RESOLVED] Help on website template layout code

Hi ive been trying to get the template i want on my homepage im currently creating but the code i copy and then paste into notebook, then view from my documents shows the top and side detail missing and the background is gone. Basically the layout looks different to what its supposed to and i havent altered the code in any way at all.

and ive gone to View and Source at the top to get the code and copy it. If you try it im sure you'll see what I mean. Its different when you view it to how the original looks. Does anyone know why? Do i have to do something? The same thing happened on a friend's computer aswell and Im not sure why. Can anyone help please? Thank you very much.

Right ive downloaded it and saved it. The folder is a Zip File, and contains some of the missing things on the template. What do i have to do next? Im quite new to this :confused:

Unzip it and open default.htm in your editor.

ive unzipped it (opened it) and opened default.htm and the page comes up just as the template appears in view mode already. Parts are still missing. Im using notebook. By opening it in my editor do you mean open the file? or paste the code into notebook? Ive done both of these and they look the same and still looks different to how its supposed to im really confused am i doing something wrong? :confused:

First open default.htm in your browser, it should look like the one on the template site. If it doesn't look right then make sure all files and folders have been downloaded and unzipped.

Open default.htm in a html editor, notebook will do, but a dedicated editor is better (HTML-Kit (http://www.chami.com/html-kit/download/)).

Thanks Fang, id forgotten to put my homepage into the same folder as the other files. Its fixed now though, thanks for your help and ive downloaded the HTML Kit too thanks :)
