Hi,

I work on a mac and currently, I work in CS3. I need to embed a simple mp3 file using dreamweaver into a site. I can embed the file perfectly fine, and it plays well.

When I open the site on a windows computer, in I.E. or firefox, a plug-in is required.

Is there any way to embed a media file so the user does not require a plug-in. For example, lets say I use quicktime, and I embed using quicktime. But my visitor us on a mac and doesn't have quicktime, is there anyway to embed the file so he can hear it despite not having the requisite plug-in.

Very gratefully yours,
Mark

Hey Mark

I am not sure, in my experience most of the time youll need a plugin. When you import the file just try import the raw mp3 file, I think the users browser should use whatever software it has available.

It is going to require a plugin if you are trying to embed a Quicktime media file. If the file is a video, you can convert it to flash and then embed that. Most people will have flash on their computer.
