When you create an image in photoshop, how do you save it as a new style or a new texture? I'm able to see the little place in the styles menu that says New Style, but it's always dimmed out so I can't click it. Don't know what I'm doing wrong:confused: And I don't have ANY idea how to save something as a texture.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Don't know if this matters, but I'm using Photoshop CS3 for Windows.

Style:
you can't save an image as a style because style are feature and/or parameter that are applied to data on the canvas or layer. in order to save a style you have to apply style to the active layer.
step:
create an image. when done, go to Layer menu > Layer style > Blending Options. there you will find parameters that can affect a layer. after you apply style, the new style button should work. don't forget that layer have to be active.
Texture:
to create a texture, firrst create the image or crop the portion of an image. then Edit menu > Define pattern... then look for the pattern on your pattern preset or any tool that use pattern.
