Whoa! That is pretty serious stuff there! I mean, what are they gonna do, insist that people pay for the pluggin?
By "they" I mean we....it is a bit confusing.

This ie version will probably just be re-written. It handles code similarly to mozilla but it handles the ie proprietary codes. Besides the way it handles the object tag I quite like it. I would not worrie Microsoft will come to their sences or they might get sued out of their minds :)

Hello...Microsnot ( Yes, I said Micro-snot) has already been sued many times already..so one more lawsuit won't make them think any differently.
But MS has gotten too big and then they get beligerent and try to force other OS platform producers to include IE in their software package...sad...just plain sad.

The lawsuit would not be little as I said sued out of their minds. Slamming a major corperation like macromedia and going against a bunch of buisness aggree ments would bring down a major wrath of God ish lawsuit. Plus the lawsuit would probably consist of many corperations, a major corperate class action suit. Everyone likes to dump on ms around here. I do not like ie as a browser but most of their other stuff is great. C++ is awesome it was used to make Java, The created asp.net one of the only two oo server side languages in use today, they have mssql server, the windows nt operating systems which are arguable the most user friendly and obviously the widest used. They have done many great things... Just because they do some take overs buy out some companies and have used bully like tactics in the past just shows that they are a buisness. Bill gates is more of an entrapenour then a computer programmer, remember that.

Yeah..I am not a fan of IE either but it sure beats the snot out of Netscrape. I tried the latest beta version of Netcape Navigator a few months ago and it was so cumbersome to use that I got rid of it the same day.
Come to find that AOL owns it so now I understand why Netscape can now be used to induce a episode of psychosis.
Anyways the lawsuit won't do anyone any good so if Microsoft is decent about it they will find a means to satisfy both sides..which would be a first.

I use mozilla firebird personally. It reads the code just like netscape becasue netscape bought code from mozilla (well netscape gives mozilla money I can't figure out their biz relationship tho). Anyways, mozilla is a very good brower to me, opera on the other hand I despize. I don't know many people who like the aol browser though, lol, you must be the first. What is aol anyway? I heard it was Gecko based, but if that is true that means it will handle code just like mozilla, which handles code just like NS :)

Eh??? What are you talking about?
What is aol anyway?
AOL is that Internet Service..y'know..America Online???
They have their own special browser..which I hate too...many people have had problems with it so once they get online they close AOL's browser and use IE instead.
However I also despise AOL internet service..I had it a few years ago and it was lousy..got kicked off while I was browsing, downloading or in the middle of a conversation in a chatroom.
Since then I have had about 15 different Internet providers...hopefully the one I use now will remain usable.

stupid ignorant 14 year old kid moment:
MSN has it's own browser that opens by default if you have them as an internet provider. it is similar to IE but uses flash as it's base so it looks alot more attractive and it seems a bit dummied down with less control.... is this a separate browser or a MSN plugin that overrides the default IE settings? Im using a mac OS X right now and i know it is IE but dummied down and uses flash too so it looks nice but it takes more work to change what i want.
It's Mac IE i know that, but the MSN IE that comes with their internet service software is weird... is it it's own browser like i think or is it just a mod that msn packages?

MSN is internet explorer with a mask on it. It uses an ie dll that was distributed after ie 5.5 came out. You can make your own msn browser thing too using this same dll if you have vb, its simple I mean it just opens the content in a window, or box if you will and you have keywords like navigate.to. such and such. AOLs browser is a modified gheko (I believe they used gheko). Yes I know aol is an isp but they have their own browser too.
