Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : What should I name my product?
Hi all
I have a small business doing online timetabling for small companies. Currently the product is named Saturn (god of time). Now besides that all domain names with 'saturn' is taken the word doesn't have a nice ring to it.
So I thought I'd ask you guys. Can you think of a name for my product? I generally dislike names like 'myplan', 'iMange' and other ripoffs. I would prefer a name which sounds good when pronouced ('Yeah I just moved our systems to Saturn') and preferably has some connection to time managing.
I been trying to come up with a name for weeks but for any name I can think of the .com domain is taken - and I really need it to be .com.
So if you have some input please let me now :)

Saturnmedia (no wait... scratch that...)
@ ariell: Doesn't really sound pro does it?
@ JPnyc: Why do you think that?
@ WebJoel: So a later fusion with JupiterMedia would become Universal Media...or just Universal...(wait...I think I heard of a company with that name) :)

@ ariell: Yeah...maybe its just me that don't like it.
I settled for something completely different but thanks for your time and suggestions.
Horology
Sundial
Meridian
All "Timey" to a degree.
I like Meridian...but the .com domain is taken.

That'll be the hardest part: obtaining an appropriate dot-COM.

I like Meridian...but the .com domain is taken. Yeah, it is a 'Financial' firm that made MacCleans Top 100 Employer this week. Name = "taken"

...and dot com is all that important???
maybe you could think in terms of "where" your potential clients are located and choose the TLD accordingly.
Also, if the client base is to be multilingual a "time planner" name in the appropriate language combined with the country TLD could be useful.
time1.eu ---- check the various cross-translations for "time" in the most common languages!
don't get stuck inside a box!

I know how hard it is to find the right domain name. Picking mine was a royal pain, but I didn't limit myself to any one thing. Eventually I found the right one, and it was available.
Saturn-sundial
Temporal-Saturn
Saturn's rings
Fly by Saturn
...and dot com is all that important???Yes.
check the various cross-translations for "time" in the most common languages!I have checked everything from Welsh to Zulu - no luck.
Picking mine was a royal painIt is a pain :)
I did settle for a name and bought the .com domain. I don't want to write the name here as Google will pick it up but its not a secret and if your are really curious just PM me.
Yes GOOGLE sees ALL.
It is the one reason why I am careful on what to put in to the public domain.
