Hi

I would like it if you put the CODE/HTML/PHP feature in the simple message box.

It would also be nice if the moderators could mark a thread as a double post so the double post wouldn't appear to anyone but the OP.

Not sure what you mean by "...if the moderators could mark a thread as a double post so the double post wouldn't appear to anyone but the OP." but basically, I remove the double-post if there are not answers given, leave a re-direct to the correct forum, or if there ARE answers given on one or both threads, I MERGE the threads to the most relevant forum and leave a redirect or notation to that effect.

If you, as a WD member, spot a 'double post', you can report it (with both thread URLs if possible or at least, cite the two Forums in question and state either the user/or question/both that you say is dbl-posted) to any Moderator whom will of course, handle the dbl-post in one or another of my stated methods. Double posts make archiving difficult and take unnecessary space.

Its something like that I meant. Just thought it would be easier if a posted could be flagged as a duplicate.

Generally, if it's a duplicate it's removed. That's why you don't see it marked.

I'm not taking about posts which are submitted twise but the same question posed by the same user two times. Usually happens when someone does not receive an answer as fast as they like.

Those are the same things ... and which I was speaking of.

An HTML question posted in HTML and in JAVASCRIPT forums means that the one on javascript forum gets removed. If there are ANSWERS posted to the question in javascript forum, that thread can (and usually is) merged to correct forum, HTML, so that the knowledge is aggregated together, and available for archive and reference. A 'redirect' is left on the now 'closed' thread in javascript, so that the Original Postee knows to not wait there for replies, but instead can click the redirect and go to the correct forum "HTML" and get to his thread... -make sense?

On a side note, I second Dok's motion to add the code, html and php tag buttons to the simple editor. I almost always start out my reply in the simple editor, then click the Go Advanced button to preview it. Saves time, if only a few seconds.

I do, but I'm lazy and I would like a button. :p

But basically it's that I do my initial composing on the simple editor.

Too lazy to type [ code ] [ / code ] but happy to post several posts that are several sentences long complaining about typing 13 characters. lol. ;)

Indeed. I love the little code buttons. :) So handy to use.

Those square brackets are harder to hit than the normal alphanumeric keys.
