Stupid Background Image Question

So I have to ask the stupidest question about a background image....So annoying because the people I work for think that web pages are made with a magic wand.....

So we have this site:

For some reason they want that ugly striped wallpaper...I thought smaller stripes were nicer but they want those hugea** stripes.

Now they want a way for the wallpaper to magically end so that the beginning and the end stripe are the same.

I told them it depends on how big someone makes their browser window...etc. Is there a way to control that?

And I know I'm bad for using tables....

If you redo the stripe graphic so that the dark stripe is halved and on each side so that the graphic is symmetrical, you can set the background horizontal position to center.
