Open .fla from MX2004 in FlashCS3 how to?

Hi.
I have a file that I cannot open on my latest version of flash CS3. The file will open at my friends studio - he runs MX2004. I was wondering if there was a way to go to his studio and re-save the file so that I can open it on my computer? Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks!

I've got a feeling you're.....well, I don't think it will work. What version is it? Between MX2004 was Flash 8 (still Macromedia). I'm pretty sure Flash 8 can open MX2004 and can resave as Flash 8, but you'll get a message that some features will be lost. Then perhaps with only one generation between, maybe CS3 will open a Flash 8 file... maybe....

Flash CS3 will open any flash file older than Flash CS3 saved format. However you cannot open a Flash CS3 file from within anything older unless it is saved in Flash 8 format, etc.
