How to make money by creating a website

Hello people!
I would really appreciate if someone would answer my questions. First i would like to make absolutely my own website, i have a perfect idea what is in there, but i have herd that one girl payed somewhere 8 dollars and now makeing money of it. Could someone please tell me where i could build and pay for the website and make money of it?
I have somesort of a club thing where i allready have users(fans), so that wont be a problem for haveing there users too.

3. PROFIT!!

It never works.

Be sure you can fill in #2 in the list above. And 8 dollars for a money making website? I highly doubt that person is making a profit. You can create a free blog at www.blogger.com and start selling ads, but that doesn't mean you can quit your day job.

More important than any technical aspect is what your idea is, and how you plan to make money off of it. You generally have three ways of doing this:

1) Offer free content and sell ads
2) Offer paid content
3) Offer some free content and allow people to upgrade to paid content
