Hi,

A silly little question:

I would like to attract german and spanish visitors to my site.

Do I need to manually register on "german" and "spanish" Google or, if google finds foreign language pages automaticly indexing it and rank it on its foreign search engines?

Thanks for your input

hi,

You don't need to manually add these pages to GG.de or GG.es, if they are linked properly within your site he will find them normally.

A good approach here, if you have quite a few pages for each language, is to create subdomains : de.yoursite.com , es.yoursite.com for instance

Then in google webmaster tools, you can add each subdomain has a separate website and specify the geographic target.

If you don't do that Google will consider your site from the country where it is hosted, consequently, your ranking will be poorer on german or spanish searches.

I concur with gbonnet, just last week I had a similar instance with a new client. We are adopting this same function i.e. subdomains with different languages, and it is working well so far.
