Interesting comment by Ballmer when asked about IE recently. He was asked:
The student put Ballmer on the hot seat by asking, "Why is IE still relevant and why is it worth spending money on rendering engines when there are open source ones available that can respond to changes in Web standards faster?"
Ballmer replied:
"Open source is interesting. Apple has embraced Webkit and we may look at that, but we will continue to build extensions for IE 8."

Define "look at that". Microsoft is undoubtedly going to stick with IE extensions for the foreseeable future. Open Source is not something they'll embrace with open arms.

I just found it interesting he didn't jump in the air and yell, "What?! Are you crazy? IE is the greatest in the world!".
