I am a small business web designer, some of my customers want to be able to update certain things on the site on their own once I am done the site.
Certain pages such as "Upcoming Events" etc.

I have MAMP and everything but I just want something that allows me to keep control over the site and they can only change the one tiny area of the site.
How would I do this? I use Dreamweaver, and have researched lots of CMS's like jooma, wordpress but not sure what would be good for this.

:)Any help would be great!:)
Thanks,

If you're looking for a low-cost solution that scalability wouldn't be an issue, you could look into Adobe Contribute. Using that, you could define "editable" regions in Dreamweaver, as a result, only Contribute could update and review the "editable" regions.

thanks Ryan,
so would my client have to purchase contribute in order for that to work?
I was thinking of an open source program they could just log into a site and update info. Is there no such thing?

There is, but most of the open source I've worked with don't have flexibility in locking people out of certain areas of a page that have been designed in Dreamweaver. Most open source packages have their own design themes that weren't meant to handle that.

Your customer/client would have to purchase Contribute...think its like $85-100 last time I checked.
