Hi,

This old lady went and bought a wii machine. The only newer TV we have it the new wide-screen in the bedroom and I wanted to set this up on old tv in the back room to have room to have room to move when I play it. I bought it for the exercise. (I have a neuro disease that requires I exercise daily. )

However my old TV has no Audio input jack, only a video yellow plug jack. The only other thing hooked into this tv is a basic satellite box.

Does anyone know if there any type of convert box I can buy for my old tv so I can hook up one of the audio jacks?

I know this is a very off topic but I only below to a few forums and did not want to join any new ones.

Thanks for any help
Kimber

You MAY be able to use an RF adaptor, but I'm not sure if the Wii has anything like that.

Otherwise an RF modulator will turn your yellow, red, and white cables into RF.

I'm assuming we are talking about a TV that accepts RF, otherwise I'm lost.

Thank you, I will google RF adaptors.

Yes I am looking for something to put on the TV so I can put in one of the red and white audio cables. I only have a yellow video put in on the tv.

If the TV has a coax antenna input, you could use something like this, perhaps: http://www.svideo.com/rfmodulator11.html (I'm not recommending this particular brand, it's just the first example I found).

That is perfect, thanks. But after looking at that I think I am going to research to see if I can use one of my old VCR instead of buying something. TV to VCR to Wii hook up but if not that is the perfect answer.

Thanks again

I found hooking up via VCR direction on Wii tech support page so I can do that.

Thanks for the help

That's a pretty clever idea, especially if it means you don't have to buy any more hardware. Glad you thought of it. :)

Post back and let us know whether or not you get it working. I used to have all kinds of AV gear (games consoles, TVs, amplifiers, stereos, mixing decks, PCs etc.) wired up to eachother for my hobbies. I might be able to help if you still need it. It depends on whether or not what I know would be relevant for you. For example xvszero suggested using an RF cable, and Noggin suggested a coax antenna which sounds very mich like a slightly less formal name for an RF lead. So I'm assuming they're the same thing but aren't usually referred to by the same name by British and American people. However, all I know about American usage of RF leads is that they had the good sense to stop using them long before the British did (that and, of course, the fact that they carry different signal types).

Oh and don't worry about asking miscelaneous questions in the coffee lounge. That's what it's here for! :D

Hi, I got a old VCR out and am using it to get the wii working. After looking at a picture of NogDog S-Video, I got it working. I have to leave a tape in the VCR and hit play and stop to get the Wii screen but i can live with that. Of course now I want a better better TV.. :D

I got the sport Wiimote Attachments this weekend and plan to test them out. I am planning on getting the exercise board as soon as I can find one. I got this wii mostly for exercise.

I like to buy some games that make you have to more around some but easy to play but have not had time to research what is what yet.

thanks for asking
