Some of you may have approached me about this or griped about it.
My Post Count is 666.

Most of the posts probably came from the Dell vs HP thread, or Mephistopheles himself! Nah. It's fun.

Because it is where it is, I've decided to confine my posting to the coffee lounge so as to avoid the number 667. BUT! In light- or darkness -of all the moaning, and griping, I've decided to give you the chance to change my mind about it all.

I've created a poll about it-- if the forum can get more than 666 votes telling me to post outside the lounge, I'll do it. No cheating, everybody.

To be fair to everyone here, if I find that I can help you outside the lounge with any Web Development dilemma, I'll send you a PM instead of posting.

You realise that PMing a solution to someone isn't helpful for anyone seeing the solution in the future, means the person may get the same solution posted by someone else even after you've given a solution, and generally causes a few problems.

Other then that 666 = cool, especially with the red eyes :P

What do you intend to do if the person asking the question has PM disabled?

End the 666 of doom!

PMing solutions is not helpful as scagar said. Anyway, 666 (or DCLXVI as I like to write as someone I can't remember calls it) is a nice number.

Isn't the real number of the beast 616 anyway? 666 didn't come about till the 6th century, while 616 has been used from the 3rd century.

I think a moderator should just pick a random post of yours here in the lounge and move it into one of the "real" forums.

:p

He'd just pettition for one of his real posts to be deleted then, it'd solve nothing.

I merged the two duplicate threads. Problem solved. ;)

By the way, I voted for you to post elsewhere. ;)

You wound me. 661 votes to go, everybody

If I do have to PM somebody with a solution, I'll ask them to post it.
If they have it disabled, then I'll not worry about it.

666! Sign of the Beast! (or so says Iron Maiden). Ozzie rules! >:)

I say keep that cool post count, maybe start a new identity to post elsewhere. But, I'm all about representitive numbers and such....

Thank you, Mayday. Iron Maiden, Ozzie, they all rule.

Ultimately, you must answer this yourself, and it really comes down to answering which is more important to you: having a particular post count show up here, or joining with the 99.99% of the contributing members here for whom sharing knowledge is the reason they've posted. (And yes, that qualifies as a "loaded question.")

Personally, I think 10,000 would be a much cooler post count than a measly 666. :p

:p
or an admin could just manually change your post count...
