I tried downloading the SQL Server 2005 Express to use with my VS.NET and when I try installing I keep getting error:

An installation package for the product Microsoft SQL Server Native Client cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'sqlncli.msi'

What should I do? I'm wondering which version I should install? I want to use it with Visual Studio.NET

I was going to install the 2000 but they sort of suggested I get the 2005.

You definitely want 2005 (or even the SQL 2008 Express).

Regarding the error, you probably have a previous install of one of the components (the SQL Native Client).

This KB Article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910229/en-us) gives the following direction on this error:

To work around this problem, uninstall SQL Native Client by using Add or Remove Programs.
