Guys-

I have been told my site does not look correctly on a mac in sarafi. I am not sure what I can do because ever other web browser it looks fine. I created an image in photoshop and faded it to a certain color. Then I am using that color is the rest of the body background color of the site.

Please take a look at it here. Any suggestions on how I can have better results?

Attached is a screenshot of what it supposedly looks like on a mac with safari.

Thank you!

Are you sure it isn't the monitor of the Mac, rather than the browser? Some monitors display color codes differently.

Why don't you give your A element with the id=ctl00_linkHome a display:block and a certain size. Now get rid of that png transparent image (<img id="ctl00_imageBlack...>) which might look "half-transparent" for some browsers on some displays.

thanks for your replies. so you think it might be the actual monitor itself that is a problem? any thoughts on what i could do about this issue?

as for the transparent image. after looking at the problem image, it appears that the file "logo.png" that is the background with the fade is the image that is causing issues. the transparent png is just around the logo itself. but you are right i should get rid of it.

any other thoughts on what i could do to remedy this issue?

thanks!

does anyone have any more thoughts on this? should i be saving the image in a different type of format? It would seem there has to be a way to resolve this issue so that a Mac the web color and photoshop color should be identical.

any help on this would be appreciated!

I've not encountered any resolutions to that type of problem, and I've learned to just sort of put up with it. It's sort of like walking into an electronics section with a bunch of TV's playing - all the color saturations of the pictures look differently, even among the same brand.
