tracking the 'Clickthroughs' an advertiser gets from their link on my site?

Is there a way - a script or piece of code (php, JS, HTML) I can add or maybe by putting the link in some sort of div layer that then has said code attached to it so I do not have to modify the advertisers link - so I can get a gauge of how many clicks it gets?

This will help me negotiate better with the advertisers.

okay.. I found one that is php based that was easy to install and get running and verified it works. simple, clean, basic, easy.
