sounds like you're using the wrong username/password. did you configure it with a password?

in response to your pm, which I will not repost,

i'm not sure why you think there's no documents on how to use xampp. did you look at this? it'll tell you what the username/password configured is.

i have been in touch with support and the person who was kind enough to take the time could not figure it out why it would not connect. i have reinstalled several times with different versions with no luck. i have come to the conclusion that xampp is for testing only as it was designed for and only certain features work properly. i have been around the block reading articles and trying everything that was posted in those articles. and chazzy i am really sorry to have bothered you.

the conclusion you have drawn is not the correct conclusion.

problem is solved.... i figured it out on my own. Tip when reinstalling make sure u delete all folders on your c drive relating to the previous install of xampp particularly the mysql folder. it stores information from the previous installation. thanks for putting up with me.
