Hi,

My name is Michele and I work in the marketing department of Wells Fargo’s Internet Payment Division. I recently convinced my boss to implement a referral program created specifically for web developers. The program provides you with cash incentives to sign up prospective clients up with Wells Fargo Online Payment Processing services.
Since I am not a web developer myself, I would really like to get your feedback about what you think of our overall referral program, the cash incentives being offered, and the reward gift ($100 gift certificate from Amazon.com) for signing up and activating your first account by January 30, 2003.

If you have some time, could you visit our web site at: hhttp://www.wellsfargosecure.com/wdp/?wdc

If you have the time, please feel free to email me your thoughts regarding the program.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards [and be nice, I'm not a spammer!!! :D ],

Michele...

I won’t delete your post, since your asking for HONEST thoughts. Hopefully you'll take my thoughts and feelings into consideration.

You may want to edit your post to take out the extra H in your address listed above.

On top of that, My self I would not go directly to Wells Fargo. Don't get me wrong I do other business with WF.

However my exp. in the past says that the acceptance rate to get a CC Processing account for an Ebusiness with Wells Fargo is not going to happen for most existing businesses let alone a startup.

I cannot speak for the other developers here however myself the payback to me of $25.00-$75.00 listed on the website is not enough to get me excited. Nor a gift certificate from Amazon.com. I have Rent and payroll to meet! I'm going to pick where I know I have a better markup and a residual on my client’s transaction.

What can be done to fix this...
Give the developers that sign up a list of qualifications to see if putting in the time promoting your service is even worth their time. This will also help weed out early non acceptable candidates.

I would enjoy going on however I need to know your more than a one time post member. That is the true sign of a spam thread.

Pete,

Thanks for your feedback and message. Yes, I am a legitimate person working for Wells Fargo.

You are right. In comparison to other smaller credit card processing companies, our acceptance rate is lower. But, if you compare us with other large banks, we have a high acceptance rate. Now, a few things that I can tell you and other developers is that if you are already a customer of Wells Fargo and your FICO/credit score is good, you have a good chance of qualifying. Hope that helps

On compensation, we did some research on what other large banks are paying, and found that our compensation was pretty good. So, I am curious and interested in finding out from you, if you have experiences with other large banks providing higher compensation? Or transaction based compensation?

Aside from the compensation, we are hoping that if a developer is recommending a credit card processing company, it matters if that company is going to be reputable and will be here tomorrow. Does that matter to you or other developers reading this message?

Otherwise, please send me comments directly to my email or through this board.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Michele
